Open Call for Content Review of a ‘Health for All’ Champions Advocacy Package
SAfAIDS has drafted a ‘Health for All’ Champions Advocacy Package for the KP Reach (Key Populations Representation, Evidence and Advocacy for Change in Health) through a Global Fund funded three-year program
The package is intended to raise the understanding and ability of the KP reach cadre of champions and those they interact with (including civil society organisations, government departments, communities, healthcare practioners, legal bodies and practitioners and other institutions) to develop, implement and monitor KP specific advocacy actions that support improved access to healthcare systems by the identified KP populations in each country.
SAfAIDS is seeking the services of a technical expert external reviewer to revise the content in line with feedback received from the KP Reach stakeholders Materials Review Committee and prepare a final draft.
- Consistency and currency of language around key populations (to move away from bio-medial terminology) and
- Expand content around a human-rights based approach, especially with regard to advocacy & action, law and criminality (including very recent changes around sex work), the need to research key health needs rather than barriers of KPs, and including recent developments.
The manual is currently approximately 34 pages long.
The deadline for submission of the revised manual is June 23 2017.
Interested and qualified consultants should have excellent command of English and preferably have had previous experience in writing and/or reviewing materials for key populations. Samples of previous writing or relevant work should be made available for reference. Preference will be given to key population members who meet these criteria.
The deadline for submission of applications is June12 2017
